    Armenia-Nagorno Karabakh combined tour

    Day 1: Depart for Armenia
    Depart from your country to Armenia.

    Day 2: Arrival / Yerevan City Tour
    Early morning arrival and transfer to the hotel in Yerevan.
    Breakfast in the hotel.
    Arrival  in Yerevan and transfer to the hotel at your choice. Accommodation at the hotel. After lunch visit the Museum of the Medieval Armenian Culture – Matenadaran having a collection of over 16000 ancient manuscripts. Visit the Museum of History of Armenia having the richest collection of historical data.
    Visit Brandy company for tasting of 3 types of famous Armenian cognac.
    Lunch in a local restaurant.
    Dinner in a local restaurant.
    Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.

    Day 3: Echmiadzin / Zvartnots / Yerevan
    Breakfast in the hotel.
    Full day tour to Echmiadzin – the holy seat of the Supreme Patriarch-Catholicos of all Armenians. The Cathedral was built in 303 on the site of a pagan temple after the adoption of Christianity as a state religion in 301. Visit St. Hripsime Church (7th century). A few kilometers from Echmiadzin are the ruins of the 7th century AD Temple of Zvartnots.

    Day 4: Yerevan / Ashtarak / Yerevan
    Breakfast in the hotel.
    Full day excursion to Ashtarak – one of the ancient cities of Armenia. The settlement is full of historical architectural monuments constructed in different periods (II millennium BC to XVIII AD). Here you can visit the church Karmravor (VII-XIX) that preserved its original appearance with red tile roofing. The 4th century Ohanavank monastery complex will also be visited. Will see the spectacular and romantic 7th century fortress of Amberd located 2300 meters above sea level beneath the groups of snow-covered Aragats Mountains. Founded by St. Gregory the Illuminator and that of the 13th century Saghmosavank, famous for its depository of manuscripts.

     Day 5: Yerevan / Khor Virap/ Noravank / Jermuk
    Breakfast in the hotel.
    Visit Khor-Virap (4th-17th cc). Khor Virap, one of the romantically sited monasteries in Armenia with views across a bast plain to Turkey and the twin peaks of Mount Ararat. Here, in the atmosphere of historical environment and vivid imagination you will notice the Noah’s Ark in the snows of Ararat. The tour will on to the 12th century monastery complex of Noravank set in a canyon rich with rare flora.

    Overnight at the hotel in Jermuk town.

    Day 6:  Jermuk / Shaki Fall / Zorats Kar / Tatev / Goris
    Breakfast in the hotel.
    Leaving for Sisyan. Transfer by mini-buses to see Shaki Fall. Visit Zorats Kar (Armenian Stonehenge- old observatory). Stop al Halidzor Village to take the longest in the world tramway to the Tatev Monastery. According to historian Stepanos Orbelian, the first church of what later became the mighty walled complex of Tatev was actually built in the 4th century. In the 8th century, it was made the throne of the Syunik bishopric and in the 9th century, it expanded, becoming a major feudal power.

    Arrive and overnight at the hotel in Goris.

    Day 7: Goris / Gandzasar / Mountainous Karabagh / Stepanakert
    Breakfast in the hotel.
    Leave Goris for Nagorno-Krabakh. Sightseeing tour including visit to Gandzasar. Gandzasar monastery is a 13th century monastery situated in Nagorno-Karabakh.  The complex is protected by high walls. Within the complex is the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, built between 1216 and 1238. The drum of its dome has exquisite bas-reliefs that depict the Crucifixion, Adam and Eve, and two ministers holding a model of the church above their heads as an offering to God. City Tour of Stepanakert. Overnight at the hotel in Stepanakert.

    Day 8: Stepanakert / Shushi /Goris
    Breakfast in the hotel.
    Leave Stepanakert. Visit Shushi. Visit Surp Amenaprkich Ghazanchetsots Cathedral in Shushi, the face of which is covered with local finished white lime-stone. The majestic dome leans on four pillars. The exterior ways are luxurious; there are ornament- carvings everywhere, especially on the arches of doors and windows.
    Arrive to Goris and have evening at leisure.

    Arrive and overnight at the hotel in Goris.

    Day 9: Goris / Selim pass / Noratuz / Sevan                                       
    Breakfast in the hotel.
    Leave Goris and drive towards the Lake Sevan via Selim Pass for the visit Selim Caravansary. Visit Noraduz -medieval cemetery with a large number of early khachkars located in the village of Noratuz. The cemetery has the largest cluster of khachkars in the republic of Armenia. It is currently the largest surviving cemetery with khachkars. Visit Hayrivank dating to the 9th century.

    Day 10: Sevan / Dilijan / Dzoraget
    Breakfast in the hotel.
    Full day tour to Lake Sevan- the emerald of Armenia, with a visit to the 9th century Sevan Monastery. Here you can have a good time on the sunny and sandy beach of the lake Sevan. The tour will continue on to the beautiful mountainous and forested region of Dilijan, and then on to the magnificent complex of the Haghartsin Monastery (11th century).

    Day 11: Dzoraget / Haghpat / Sanahin / Yerevan
    Breakfast in the hotel.
    Sightseeing tour to the 10th-13th centuries Haghpat and Sanahin historical and architectural monuments set amidst forest-clad hills close to the town of Alaverdi (178 kilometers from Yerevan). The monuments are preserved by UNESCO and included in the World Heritage List.

    Day 12: Yerevan / Garni / Geghard / (country)
    Breakfast in the hotel.
    Drive through the picturesque Avan Canyon, skirting formidable cliffs and passing exotic-looking gorges until a green plateau by the Azat River comes into view. Here, in the harmony of the relief and the virgin nature you will see the pagan Garni architectural complex of the 1st century and feel the spirit of ancient ages. Another ten minutes ride through the gorge will take you to the cave monastery of Geghard (12th – 13th centuries).

    Midday transfer to the airport for flight back home.
